The highlight of the evening was definitely the fire dance performance. This guy was incredibly skilled and put on an exciting show where I was certain he was going to burn is buns off. That being said, and kidding aside, everyone in my group left feeling connected to the culture and heritage of Hawaii in a new way.

Attending the Sheraton Luau at Black Rock was a must since we stayed at the Sheraton. I was apprehensive at first, but it was great. The staff were friendly and the pork cooked to perfection. After I loved the Hula dancing and live music. We also had the opportunity to participate in hula lessons, and I was the first one to go up!
Harrison Nokahara –
I was grateful as the sun began to set since it was a crazy hot day. But once it was lower, the air temp made for the perfect outdoor dining experience. The service was attentive, food very good, and the music soothing.
A Thompson –
The only negative was that you only run your luau three days a week. We had to attend the night before we left, (due to availability) and I was hungover on the plane.
Paul Sutphen –
Just as good as the Old Lahaina Luau and even better than the Royal Lahaina Luau. I’ve gone to most of the luaus on Maui and on Kauai. I’m what some might call a professional Hawaii traveler, so trust that I know my luaus. This is worth every penny, especially if you’re staying in Kaanapali.
Treasa Mclean –
Loved the entertainment and the entire atmosphere. Beautiful setting, and enjoyed being served salad and dessert at our table… cheesecake was the best! Guessing the serve was Covid related, but recommend keeping this service for the future. We did go to another Luau on the Big Island, and I have to say the food and drinks were better there.

There was a lot more going on than I had anticipated. After settling in at my table, a got a drink and walked around. Listening to the music, I looked at crafts (and bought one for my son) and enjoyed watching the games (spear throwing looked fun, but my shoulder went out last month.) I’m not sure it’s possible to have a more relaxing and fun dining experience!

Bravo! I’ll be back for this

This was my favorite night time activity to do on Maui, but you guys didn’t reopen like the other luaus when I was in Maui in late January. ARGH!!! You’d get 5 stars if you had opened up safely like the others.

Much better than I’d anticipated a luau to be. I was dragged along by my wedding party group. Didn’t think it’d be much fun. Ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. So, from someone that had never been to a luau and looked down on it, take my advice and know this is worth doing. If I come back to Maui, I’ll do this again. Thanks!
Maui Hawaii –
Your sentiments are pretty common. There’s nothing to dislike about doing a luau on Maui. Always a good time!
Angie –
We went to this luau about 5 years ago, before my son was born. It was great, but I can’t remember the specifics. How long is the Sheraton Maui Luau?
Activity Authority –
The Sheraton Maui Luau has check in at 4:45pm and is open to guests around 5-5:15pm. The show is 3 hours long, so it usually ends around 8-8:15pm. The only reason that these times may be changed would be due to weather. The cliff diving torch lighting ceremony happens at sunset, which changes throughout the year. Other than that, the length of the show and start/end time are pretty consistent. ALOHA!

This was my favorite part of my 1st time to Maui!!!!!! Thank you thank you thank you! We had so much fun. I was worried about bringing my kids (3 and 5) but there’s so much lawn area for them to run around, no one was bothered by them. THANK GOD. We got to sit and sip maitais and relax for the show while our kids played away from the tables. Does it get better than that? AND, I learned how to properly throw a spear. That’s right. SO FUN! Thanks again!
